<p align="left">The Denver Zoological Foundation is awarded $1,000.00 to determine if the carnivore community in Yellowstone  Park is diversifying in the presence of wolves.</p>

<p align="left">The Web of Life Ecology Center in Naugatuck, WV is awarded $1,985.00 to offer low income children a camp  experience learning environmental conservation.</p>
</li>

<p align="left">The Chesapeake Sustainable Business alliance, in conjunction with White Dog Foundation (it&#8217;s 501(c)3) is  awarded $2,250.00 to help &#8220;promote, network, and educate locally owned businesses to create a just and sustainable economy.&#8221;</p>

<p align="left">The Leatherback Trust Inc. is granted $3,000.00 toward their programs including preserving Olive Ridley  Turtles and Leatherback Turtles in Costa Rica, and training a female conservation biologist in South Africa.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Most of the remainder of the meeting was taken up with a review of grant applications. The following grants were awarded:</p>

<p align="left">To produce THE WORLD GAME at Notre Dame College on April 22, 2005 we award a grant of $5,000.00. Along with  honor students at Notre Dame the Board will invite up to 200 participants, each of which will be invited to make a $10.00  donation-the proceeds going to a peace organization yet to be determined.</p>

<p align="left">Oberon projects will be awarded $4,500.00 for the ongoing operation of the teaching garden, chickens,  animals, medicinal herb garden, equipment, feed, seeds, work stipends, and transportation expenses. The 501(c)3 organization is  supporting these activates is now Fusion.</p>

<p align="left">The organization FUSION is granted $500.00 for its ongoing programs to teach inner city children in Baltimore  better nutrition and health habits.</p>

<p align="left">The ARE Over the Wall Prison Project is awarded $2,000.00 to send books to prisons throughout the U.S. which  have requested books for inmates.</p>
</li>
</ul>

<p align="left">The ARE Camp Hike Leader&#8217;s Training is awarded $1,500.00 to provide formal wilderness training to A.R.E. Camp  Staff which will enable them to offer a SAFE spiritual wilderness experience to A.R.E. campers.</p>

<p align="left">The Morgan County Observatory Foundation is granted $3,000.00 to purchase a computer to complement a large  donated telescope, in order to provide learning experiences to Maryland children.</p>

<p align="left">The Community Christian School of Wilmar, Minnesota is awarded $2,000.00 to help involve students to preserve  a natural habitat in their area.</p>
</li>

<p align="left">The Denver Zoological Foundation is awarded $1,000.00 towards a study of the role of the introduction of grey  wolves on the greater Yellowstone ecosystem.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p align="left">Oberon is awarded 2,000.00 for infrastructure upgrades to it&#8217;s medicinal garden, and live chicken protective  electrical fencing and other equipment necessary or running the children&#8217;s visitation program.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p align="left">Shorewood church of God is awarded $500.00 to volunteers who teach in Kenya.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p align="left">Rajarata Praja Kendraya is awarded $1,560.00 (contingent on producing a 501(c)3 Paper) to teach people in a  community in India to jar and preserve a freely available food (guavas) which otherwise goes to waste in their area.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p align="left">The World Game is awarded $5000.00 to present it&#8217;s program in the near future at the College of Notre Dame.  The College is donating the gym for FREE for this event. Several Board members will try to contact other donors, in which case it  will cost Koinonia less, however the Board is designating the full $5000.00 to the project at this time.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p align="left">A $200.00 gift to the New Ventures program for people with mental illness was voted on after the meeting by  email and phone poll.</p>

<li> Club Shalom is awarded $1,000.00 for 4 SSND sisters in Peru who are teaching children in a number of schools  about organic gardening and sustainability.</li>

<p align="left">Earthhome is awarded $570.00 to begin to develop ways of using biodegradable products, such as biodegradable  nylons out of corn stalks and spider webs. Wendy Cooper, who did the &#8220;planet earth photo in every classroom&#8221; project for us years  ago, will do the work on this grant.</p>
